As a sole practitioner with over 20 years’ experience in law and a background in science, I am focused on providing SMEs and other enterprises with excellent in-house legal services at a price they can afford. I am licensed to practice in Australia and the US and am based in Brisbane Australia.
My goal is to be a trusted adviser to a business, and I prefer embedded, long-term arrangements. While I can charge by the hour (much less than the standard law firm), I prefer to come to a fixed fee arrangement. I can also introduce companies to contacts in the investment world.
I have worked for both global and local startup companies in industries as varied as engineering and boutique finance, in greenfield roles where I have created the legal and risk management functions. Offerings include governance management, documents, and advice; contractual documents and negotiations such as licensing agreements, contracts for services, and confidentiality agreements; financial instruments such as shareholder agreements and investment agreements; IP registrations and protections; policy documents; training for non-lawyers; and more.
